I was playing the flute emote with a few other people, and we were getting cheers from people who couldnt even hear us ^^

Anyway, here's my proposal:

To make it so that when a character plays any of the following instruments:

Flute
Violin
...and hopefully more

or:

Guitar
Drums

Then "ACTUAL" sound can be played. This sound 'may' mix in with the background music, or it can be classed as sound effects - whereas you can only hear it if you are in the vicinity of the character playing it. Mind you, there are only main cities where the area is actually large.

Now the idea of busking works like this. For every person that walks into the city and emotes /applaud, everyone who is playing an instrument will share 1g (the total amount will be calculated once a particular person stops playing. This number is rounded DOWN to the nearest whole number). Now this /applaud emote can only be used by the character every 24 hours, so that any idea of 'farming for music' goes straight out the window.

No pre-meditation of "Exp instrumentalist LFG Busking" ^^

Now the actual purpose of busking is so that if there are more people playing instruments, a better quality of sound will come up. You could perhaps stream an orchestra of music, and whenever someone emotes an instrument, a part of that orchestra will be played. Overall, the more people play, the cooler it would sound.

I think this would be a good idea, especially in the deserted places, it might draw some attention there.

What do you guys think?

I was also thinking about having to get the actual items to play the instruments. At least there would be something more useful for a flute, other than to just give it to Gwen, or use it as a foccus... thingy.

Imagin how bad the noise gets when people don't get the sync right... I prefer them not to make a sound.. though.. some type of Jethro Tull song for the flute-playing ele might work?

oh no, no sync, no sync. I'll burn my idea if it involves having to sync it. Guilds try to dance in sync, and you will always get some random naked wammo dancing right in the middle.

The money sounds pointless... You wouldn't gain much. But for real instruments and sounds that can be turned off.

Gwen gets to do it, and I know a little replica girl in Cantha that plays the flute as well^^

I needed it to be insignificantly small, so it doesnt become AFK land.
